From a very young age Ryan showed a great interest in martial arts. His life experiences growing up in Johannesburg South Africa directed him to Israel to studied Israeli Martial Arts systems both Krav Maga and Armed Combat & Tactics. He has a full instructor in Knife, Machete and Extendable baton received directly from both Noah Gross and Alexander Zhelezniak at the source. Ryan received his 1st degree black belt in Krav Maga under the testing and requirements of Dr Itay Gill. In truth Ryan has had a multitude of teaches, mentors and influence, too many to mention everyone. He holds deep knowledge and understanding of martial arts in all domains, striking, grappling and weapons. Ryan is considered by many professional to be a subject matter expert in knife criminality and combative’s.

Since 2011 Darrel has been and played an integral part in the development of Primal. Darrel has trained under all of Ryans teaches and holds a 1st degree black belt in Krav Maga directly from Dr Itay Gil. Darrel is a full A.C.T armed Combat & Tactics instructor under both Noah Gross & Alexander Zhelezniak tested received in 2018 at the source in Israel. Darrel is an expert instructor and black belt under Primal.

Training since 2016 Igal has shown what it takes to be a true Primal Warrior. Igal received his 1st degree black belt in June 2025 Making him the 5th official black belt awarded by founder Ryan Davies.

One of South Africas top veterinarian and Since 2017, Ryan has been training under both Ryan Davies and Darrel Haltman. Ryan is also a A.C.T Armed Combat & Tactics instructor studying directly from the source- Alexander Zhelezniak. He has also received his 1st degree black belt in Krav Maga directly from Dr Itay Gil. Ryan is recognised as a Primal expert instructor.
